A Year of Obedience and Faith

Well, it has been One year since the beginning of Tenacious Talisha. After a long year of transition, I feel my calling and purpose is to share my story. I have always been a person that believes in being tenacious and a planner. However, over the last year, I have learned that no matter how much I plan, God's timing is always better than my own and that sometimes it is better to take life daily. This next year of Tenacious Talisha will hold an ending to my Master's Degree program and my second year as a merchant. I often wonder if all these stories, whether long or short have inspired you the reader. I am thankful for everyone who discovers this page, and I pray you are left wanting more of Jesus.

Post: Welcome

Welcome to Tenacious Talisha!

The first thing about starting any new and exciting journey is just putting the pen to paper.

Welcome to my garden. I call this blog a garden because gardening is one of my favorite things to do. Matthew 17:20," And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain move, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you." My daughter Laney and I plant many flowers in our garden every year and hope they sprout beautiful flowers. I must say that it is her faith in my digging that produces gorgeous plants. I love how planting a garden and watching it grow into something beautiful. Life is a garden, and we happen to stumble on beautiful places we never knew existed. Friendship is very similar. I went into a season in 2020 of a complexes like many others across the world. My career ended, and I transitioned into a new season that was very unfamiliar to me. In the Spring of 2020, Laney and I headed out to the flower garden and planted numerous seeds and flowers. We watched the rain come down and waited with great anticipation for what was going to survive.

We would go out every evening and pull weeds, well, what we thought was weeds. During this time, I joined a women's bible study group, and that is when God started to cultivate a garden of friendship that I never dreamed I would have. My marriage begins to grow in a new dynamic. My husband, D.J., was very supportive, but he had never seen me lose my job in 7 years of marriage. My garden started to wilt during this season, and I learned to become "Raw" with him. I learned how to cry and feel the hurt of my career depleting. As spring changed to summer, I started to the garden begin to grow. I had over 100 plants. I was literally "growing through what you go through." The journey through the park has started, and I look forward to sharing more through this blog. The purpose of my blog is to encourage other Tenacious Talisha's to keep on growing through whatever season God has you going through. One must endure the valley to get to the mountain top.
